FABULOUS RECYCLED CREATIONS

The Pukeko team has been lucky to have had visits this term from Kaye of Zero Waste, who has been teaching us all about re-using objects in new ways, as a way to reduce or avoid waste. One of the awesome activities we did was design our own creation using re-used materials, such as plastic milk bottles, cans, old bottle lids, etc. We had such fun planning and making our creations! What do you think of the end results?

Look at this great pig, designed and made by William.

Jess was thrilled with her fun creation!

Ruby loves the superb lion she has designed.

Kohbyn was proud of his super creation!

Matthew designed an amazing creation!

Emma created a wonderful bunny.

Don't you love Eliza's clever horse?

Zero Waste

Kay Marsh visited us from the City Council to help us explore how we can reduce our rubbish.

An old pair of jeans turned into a bag! Imagine a library book bag made out of your old jeans!

A tin can phone? How could this work?

Kay told us that for all the rubbish created by all us New Zealanders for 1 month it could fill one rugby field wide

and 30 stories high! That is a lot of rubbish!!

How do you reduce rubbish at your home? Comment below to go in the draw for 2 KC coupons, 1 team player and 1 thinker!
